Deel Alternatives

Deel has grown remarkably quickly since its founding in 2019 and is now one of the best-known names in global employment. It offers employer of record (EOR) services in around 150 countries, alongside contractor management, global payroll and a widening set of HR, IT and PEO products, and it was valued at $17.3 billion after its October 2025 funding round. If you are reading this, you are probably in one of two positions: you are already a Deel customer and want to see what else is out there, perhaps ahead of a renewal or as your hiring plans change, or you are considering Deel for an upcoming project and want to compare it with similar providers before you commit. Either way, knowing the alternatives is simply good buying practice.

Viewpoint Analysis is an independent technology matchmaking business. Helping companies find the right technology fast, and helping vendors get found by the right buyers - aiming to be the first place enterprise technology buyers go to find new technology. In this report we look at the credible alternatives to Deel, what each one does differently, and the kind of organisation each one suits best, so you can judge where Deel and its peers fit your own requirements.

Why Look at Deel Alternatives?

Readers come to this report from two directions, and the questions worth asking are a little different for each.

1) You are already a Deel customer: your contract may be coming up for renewal, your hiring footprint may have changed, or you may simply want to benchmark what you have against the wider market. Knowing your options puts you in a stronger position, whether you end up staying or moving. If this is you, the Stick or Switch section below is written with you in mind.

2) You are considering Deel for an upcoming project: Deel is a natural candidate for most global hiring shortlists, and it makes sense to compare it with similar providers before you commit. The alternatives below give you a sense of how the market differs on coverage, service model, pricing and platform scope.

Whichever camp you are in, these are the factors that most often decide which provider fits best:

EOR or your own entities: EOR is often the quickest way into a new country, while owned entities and in-country payroll tend to make more sense once you employ a larger team in one market. Providers differ in how well they support each model and the move between them.

Where and how many people you employ: country coverage, the depth of local expertise in your key markets, and how pricing scales with headcount all vary from one provider to the next.

The HR and payroll systems you already run: some organisations want global employment as a service that sits alongside an existing HCM such as Workday or HiBob, while others want domestic and international staff on one employee record.

The level of service you need: with global employment the service is a large part of the product, so think about how much hands-on guidance your HR, legal and finance teams will want on country-specific questions.

Already a Deel Customer? Should You Switch?

Moving your global workforce from one provider to another is a significant undertaking. It means transferring employment contracts, payroll histories and benefits for people in multiple countries, often without any disruption to how or when they are paid. For many organisations, staying with Deel and renegotiating the terms is the cheaper and easier option. Before you commit to a change, it is worth asking yourself some honest questions.

  • Is the problem Deel itself, or the way we are using it, for example running EOR in markets where we should by now have our own entity?

  • Have we talked through our changing needs with our Deel account team, and given them a fair chance to respond?

  • Do we understand the full cost of moving, including employee communications, contract novation, benefits transfer and the internal time involved?

  • Are we chasing a lower headline price, or is there a genuine capability gap that a different provider would close?

  • Will our employees and contractors experience the change as an improvement, or simply as disruption?

And one more: if Deel knew you were seriously considering leaving, how hard would it fight to keep your business?

None of these questions is designed to talk you out of switching. Working through them honestly will either confirm that staying put is the right call, or give you a much stronger and clearer case for change when you take it to the business.

If you would like an independent view, our Stick or Switch Application Review is built for exactly this decision. We run two workstreams in parallel, so you get a balanced answer quickly:

1.       Assess the current situation: we review how Deel is being used today and how well it fits your current needs, and approach Deel on your behalf to see what it will do to meet them and keep your business.

2.       Run a beauty parade of alternatives: at the same time, we invite a tight group of credible alternatives to show how they would meet your requirements and what a move would cost.

The Best Deel Alternatives in 2026

The alternatives below are not ranked, and Deel itself deserves a place on many shortlists. The right choice depends on where you hire, how many people you employ in each country, the HR and payroll systems you already run, and how much of the work you want a provider to take on.

ℹ️ As you read the options, you can now 'add to shortlist' and HUEY, our AI Technology Matchmaker will collate your choices and advise you on how they compare, what others could be useful, and can even introduce you to the vendor or arrange demos!

Global Employment and EOR Specialists

Remote is Deel's closest like-for-like rival, covering EOR, contractor management, global payroll and a free HRIS tier. Its key differentiator is that it places strong emphasis on owning its legal entities rather than relying on third-party partners in each country, which gives a cleaner chain of liability. Its published EOR pricing is broadly in line with Deel's, so the choice tends to come down to service, coverage and compliance model rather than price. It suits organisations whose boards, auditors or legal teams want maximum certainty about who actually employs their people.

Oyster offers EOR, contractor management and global payroll, with a strong focus on hands-on support from local employment specialists. Its EOR pricing generally sits a little below Deel's list rate, and it offers a free contractor plan for very small numbers of contractors. It is well regarded for hiring across Europe and in emerging markets. Oyster suits small and mid-sized businesses hiring in a modest number of countries who value human guidance as much as the software.

Multiplier provides EOR, contractor management and global payroll at a price point that typically comes in below Deel's, with volume discounts available for larger deployments. It includes tooling that flags contractor misclassification risk, which is a common concern for companies that have grown through contractors. It has particular depth in Asia Pacific. Multiplier suits cost-conscious scale-ups, especially those with a significant presence in Asia, that want a full-featured platform without paying a premium rate.

G-P (Globalization Partners) is one of the longest-established EOR providers and has built its business around larger enterprise customers. It has invested heavily in AI, including its G-P Gia agent, which gives HR and legal teams guidance on country-specific employment rules. Its service model and contracting approach are designed for enterprise procurement, with the governance that comes with it. G-P suits large organisations entering new markets that want an established provider with a long track record.

Pebl is the new name for Velocity Global, which rebranded in September 2025 and repositioned itself as an AI-first global hiring platform. It brings more than a decade of EOR experience and covers EOR, contractor management and global payroll. The rebrand signals a push to modernise the product while keeping the advisory depth the business was known for. Pebl suits mid-market and enterprise organisations that want an experienced EOR partner and are open to working with a provider in the middle of a product refresh.

Global Payroll and All-in-One HR Platforms

Rippling is an all-in-one workforce platform that brings HR, payroll, IT, device management and spend together on a single employee record, with EOR and global payroll available as modules. Its differentiator is consolidation: domestic and international employees are managed in one system rather than a separate global employment tool alongside an HRIS. It suits tech-forward businesses that want one platform for their entire workforce and are comfortable adopting a broad suite.

Papaya Global is a payroll-led platform that consolidates multi-country payroll and workforce payments into a single view, with EOR available where needed. Its key difference from Deel is its focus on payroll and payments for organisations that already run their own entities, giving finance teams strong visibility of global employment costs. In 2026 it launched a new AI layer while placing renewed emphasis on expert human support. Papaya Global suits enterprises with entities in many countries that want one payroll layer across them.

ADP Global Payroll brings the scale of one of the world's largest payroll providers to multi-country payroll, covering well over 100 countries through a combination of ADP's own operations and in-country partners. It is a payroll service rather than an EOR, so it fits organisations that have, or plan to set up, their own legal entities. Its differentiator is long-established payroll depth and the comfort many finance and audit teams take from working with a provider of ADP's size. It suits large enterprises moving away from EOR in their core markets and towards a more traditional owned-entity payroll model.

How to Evaluate Deel Alternatives

The quality of your evaluation process is more important than which names end up on your shortlist. With global employment, a rushed decision based on a handful of demos can leave people paid late or employed on the wrong terms, so a structured process, even a short one, is worth the effort. We recommend five steps.

•         Define the Problem Statement. Write down, in specific terms, what you need a global employment provider to do and what a good outcome looks like, including which countries, which worker types and whether you plan to move towards owned entities. Whether you are reviewing Deel or choosing a provider for the first time, this keeps the process anchored to your real requirements rather than vendor feature lists.

•         Run a Fast Market Assessment through the Technology Matchmaker. Use our Technology Matchmaker Service to get an independent, structured view of who genuinely competes for your requirement before you start taking sales calls, so you are not relying on whoever responds fastest to an enquiry.

•         Shortlist Tightly. Three or four providers is usually enough, and if you are a Deel customer, or Deel is your front-runner, it should be one of them. A longer list slows the process down and rarely changes the outcome, it just adds more demos to sit through.

•         Run a Rapid RFP. A focused, time-boxed Rapid RFP forces providers to answer your actual questions, including country coverage, entity ownership, pricing at your headcount and transition support, and gives you comparable answers across the shortlist.

•         Score and Decide. Score responses against the problem statement you defined at the outset, not against whichever demo felt most polished, and make the call.
