What Does Skello Do?


Skello is a scheduling-first platform. Rather than starting with a time clock or a payroll module, it starts with the rota, letting managers build and optimise shift patterns while taking into account legal working time rules, collective bargaining agreements and each employee's own availability. From there, the platform extends into time tracking, absence management, payroll preparation and general HR administration, so a manager can move from planning the week to reconciling actual hours to preparing payroll data without leaving one system.


For managers, the appeal is largely about time and cost control. Skello's scheduling engine can generate an optimised rota automatically, flagging gaps between planned and actual hours in real time and helping avoid the kind of costly overtime that creeps in when schedules are built on spreadsheets or paper. Its digital time clock, available on smartphone or tablet without any dedicated hardware to install, captures actual worked hours, absences and night shift premiums, feeding that data straight through to payroll preparation.


For employees, Skello's focus is on visibility and flexibility. Schedules are pushed out by app, SMS or email, shift swaps can be requested and approved without a manager chasing paperwork, and time off requests sit in the same system as the rota itself.
